Gael Garrett, from Garrett Interior Design, had one objective for the new Tauranga Vets – ‘I wanted to make a statement’
She achieves this with a stunning front entrance that catches the eye of anyone passing the corner of 9th Ave and Cameron Rd.

Inside the building the space becomes a retail outlet for pet accessories and a waiting room for owners and their pets. Here, Gael had to merge two quite different environments without compromising the design.

She had the idea of lighting up the space behind the front desk to announce to visitors that they had arrived at Tauranga Vets. She achieves with LED lighting and having the Vets logo stencilled on to the back of a beautifully painted piece of glass.

A strip of LED lighting runs directly underneath and atop of the 5mm glass, shinning through it to give an illuminated appearance. The logo has been applied to the back of the glass with vinyl and then removed once the pattern has been coated with acid catalysed paint. The white colour has added pearl finish to enhance the illuminated effect further.
This type of painted effect is part of our GlassEffects range. Click on the link for more information.
